On holiday in Gambia in january i listened closely to the hotel band playing their own music. I was so taken by the music that i went over and introduced myself. I ended up asking if I could take the band into my hotel room and record them playing live using my mac and garage band software. they said cool. we recorded one track and that was ok, i ended up asking them to record each part of the track as stems, as in every instrument individually. i did the vocals, the guitar, then the percussion and then the harmonies.I made Africa using some of their music and some of my own. i also have the full length 65 bpm version with a full vocal which i'm saving for a future album project.
 

This is a pounding tech house stomper, with grinding loops and a thundering bassline.
The remix is a stripped down affair, which really used the original samples in an original way, this was the only remix to sound completely different to our mix, and it’s simple but very effective.
 

The 'Knives' original version is the bonus track on the japanese issue of my last artist album 'The Truth' on P-Vine Recordings. The irony here is that most of the time, bonus tracks are an afterthought, whereas the instant-fix throbbing techno of 'Knives' has been one of my most requested and dancefloor friendly tracks yet. There is also a new version by James Zabiela and I'm currently working on an EP of various remixes of my material for release on Intimacy

Dig This in it's original form is a stripped down, dirty and very raw sounding, jackin' track that bridges the gap between House and Techno, and with it's loop based feel, it's relentless and full of energy.
