WE LOVE... THREE TIMES A PARTY!

The best way to describe last weekend at We Love... is EPIC! Massive props to Foamo - Chew The Fat! Resident - who stepped up to the opening slot in the Discoteca filling up the room faster than ever before, for Riton's only summer appearance. Felix and Pierre represented the new sound of CTF! perfectly, with Felix proving he still reigns supreme as king of floor stoppers - that dance floor wasn't going to stop until Felix was told he HAD to, for fear of our club license! A little bit of South London Underground in Ibiza!

A massive round of applause to go to the mighty Groove Armada. Andy and Tom absolutely smashed the Terraza, seamlessly fusing tech house, rave classics, piano laden house and big beats, giving us a serious case of the goose bumps. The newer, fresher sounding Armada have us very excited indeed for their upcoming shows later this summer.

Speaking of thumping and smashing, those who managed to catch the chaotic craziness that was dOP live will probably never look at the Red Box the same way again - for a while it was enter at your own risk, with the trio of Frenchmen pouring vodka down the crowd's throats, raving harder than any of the punters and causing more than a few moments of confusion with tracks like 'It's a Hard Knock Life'. And yes, we do mean the one from that musical - sure to go down in We Love... history as one of the kookiest and most amazing acts we've ever hosted yet!

Kicking off the Sunset Terrace this week is Andy Baxter, bringing with him a new 'secret weapon' (in the form of live keys by Tuccillo) to get the club warmed up. Alfredo and Ian C step up to the plate next, before we're pleased to welcome back our good mate Thomas Gandey (AKA Cagedbaby) to tear it up in his own inimitable style!

Inside on the Space Terraza we've got another dynamic duo warming up - a special extended b2b performance by rezzies Jason Bye & Alex Wolfenden. Also on the agenda are Paul Woolford, Jesse Rose and the delightful Smokin Jo, but the biggest shout out this week is for Prins Thomas, making his We Love... debut and also his one and only Ibiza performance this summer - so don't miss it!

We Love Space Sundays 2010

In the revamped Discoteca it's about to get biblical with the return of techno wizard Jeff Mills and our exclusive resident Joris Voorn. Bringing the live element is Minilogue, while wonderkid Jozif gets a taste of the big room after impressing us in the Red Box so much last year.

Having finally mopped up the evidence of last week's Red Box carnage, the Burlington Project are back to do it all again, this week welcoming Levon Vincent and Cedric Maison to the fold, alongside residents Ryan O'Gorman - who will, we're sure, be suffering the after-effects of a weekend at Glastonbury so could be quite interesting to say the least - plus Jem Haynes and Andy Carroll.

Up on the Premier Etage, it's over to Jon Sa Trinxa, Ian Blevins and Mr Doris to keep it Balearic, while bringing some London-flavoured disco love to the white isle this week are the lads from Tirk Records. Matty J & Ben Terry plus Matthew Burgess will be on duty in El Salon, which is fast becoming the place to be in the club to spot off-duty DJs and slightly worse-for-wear We Lovers on the 14th hour of their shift. It's hard work, you know!

WE LOVE... RADIO
On this week's podcast we feature the mighty Groove Armada as our DJs in the mix. Tom Findlay and Andy Cato are back at We Love Space and they played a storming three-hour set on the Terraza to kick off their 2010 monthly residency. We feature exclusive highlights of this brilliant set, while additional music this week is selected by Riton, who appeared in the Discoteca last week as part of the special Chew the Fat! presentation. The podcast is hosted by Tom Brown with reportage from Ruth Osborne.

WE LOVE... DJ MIXES
As the summer starts to kick in, our vault full of DJ mixes just keeps getting bigger and bigger, with enough music to keep you going long after the after-parties!

Joris Voorn
We're looking forward to the return of our exclusive resident Joris Voorn to the Space Discoteca this Sunday, kicking off his six-date residency with a bang. One of our firm faves in the office, he's often mentioned when we're talking about the 'sets of the summer' and to remind us of just how good he is, Joris has given us a mix showcasing the sounds we'll be hearing this summer, You can also catch Joris on July 18, August 8 & 29 and September 12 & 26. In the meantime, download, play LOUD and enjoy...

Matty J and Ben Terry 'Tirk'
Matty J & Ben Terry are musical partners in crime and resident DJs for London based label Tirk Records, the critically acclaimed imprint that rose from the ashes of the legendary Nuphonic label. Equally happy playing slow burning warm-ups as causing peak time destruction, expect low slung basslines, a healthy dab of acid and a huge slice of soul from their latest mix... and from their all-night-long session in El Salon this Sunday!

Jeff Mills
WE LOVE... JEFF MILLS
Jeff Mills is undoubtedly one of the founding fathers of techno music. In this three-part transcript of a recent interview he gave to the Red Bull Music Academy Radio, you can read all about him starting out on Detroit radio in the mid-80's, meeting Parliament bassist 'Mad' Mike Banks, the evolution of techno, Underground Resistance, traveling for the first time to Europe, Axis, rescoring Fritz Lang's Metropolis, The Rings of Saturn and treading that careful line between dance-music and high art.

Ian C
WE LOVE... IAN C
Our resident percussionist, who performs weekly with Alfredo on the Sunset Terrace, has been in high demand recently, playing in clubs, at events and in studios all over the world. Alfredo sums him up: 'I never practice with Ian, never. The way he keeps the beat is like a machine and melody with percussion is something I have not heard before.' Mark Broadbent belies his promoter's hat like so, 'I generally dislike drummers more than DJs but Ian is great.' Here are some tales and photos from his travels...
