WE LOVE... THE SECOND COMING


Ooooh yeah, it's good to be back! From watching those big smiley faces inflate before the front doors opened to watching the cleaners collect the last beer bottle off the floor at the end - and seeing thousands of clubbers flock to the dance floor in between - we enjoyed every minute of the ride. Highlights included Audiofly warming things up with their own unique take on house and Martin Buttrich, who kept up an incredible two-hour live performance, followed by an equally as impressive closing set by Carl Craig - the equivalent of the Discoteca being hit by a shattering earthquake!

On the main terrace James Zabiela had arms in the air for hours (and more than a few jaws to the floor when he dropped a couple of bars of drum and bass!). More props to Layo & Bushwacka! for whipping the same room into an earlier frenzy and Funkagenda for daring to rock the Kasbah on the sunset terrace. Yes indeed, our opening party rocked, even if we do say so ourselves!

While every room at Space has its own unique vibe, we've got to admit the Space Terraza has got us pretty freaking excited this week, with the return of the mighty Groove Armada to the We Love... family. It's the first of their four-show residency with us this year, and we can't wait to see what they pull out of their bags. They'll be joined by the Leeds massive - Ralph Lawson, Paul Woolford, and the dudes from PBR Streetgang, with New Yorker Andy Butler (of Hercules and Love Affair) rounding out the mix.

Jason Bye picks up where he left off last week, opening the Sunset Terrace, before passing the baton over to Alfredo and Ian C followed by Space perennial Jonathan Ulysses. On the other side of the club, the El Salon duties have been given to the Disco Bloodbath crew, kicking off the first of their two-date takeover with us this year. Residents Damon Martin and Ben Pistor do the honours...

This week the Discoteca is in the capable hands of the Chew The Fat! crew, who've graduated to the big room after cutting their teeth in the Red Box for the last few years. Wonder kid and Fat! resident Foamo (check his awesome new mix available for download below) joins Riton, DJ Pierre and the one and only Felix Da Housecat.

Speaking of the Red Box, despite the fact its on the second floor, it's fast gaining a reputation as the most ‘underground' of rooms in Ibiza. This week, The Burlington Project presents a full live show from France's amazing DOP, with resident and host Ryan O'Gorman, David Phillips and Scott Martin also making an appearance. Next door, on the open-air Premier Etage, our trusty residents Andy Carroll, Ian Blevins and Jon Howell are at the controls - providing the perfect soundtrack to watch those low-flying planes soar overhead!

WE LOVE... RADIO The We Love Ibiza podcast moves from monthly to weekly as we head into a brand new 16-week season of shows. In the opening party edition we have exclusive highlights from James Zabiela's closing set on the Terraza, definitely one of his best Space performances yet. Additional music in this week's podcast is chosen by weekly Sunset Terrace resident and one of Ibiza's most respected DJ's Alfredo. WE LOVE... TEL AVIV

Want to come visit us somewhere out of the ordinary? Well, pack your bags for the Middle East, as We Love... makes our first foray into Tel Aviv, with our debut gig on June 29 at Hangar 11. Touted as the finest club in Israel, we're proud to become a part of its illustrious programming schedule, bringing our long-time Sunset Terrace resident Jonathan Ulysses to join Hangar 11's list of renowned residents behind the decks.

WE LOVE... MINISTRY OF SOUND

As part of our constant quest to take over the globe we'll be heading to MINISTRY OF SOUND in London for a three-date summer residency in 2010. Our first party on July 3 looks set to be an absolute stormer with DJ Hell, 2020Soundsytem, Ralph Lawson, Todd Terje, Tim Sweeney, Paul Woolford and more, all bringing the We Love vibe to London. To get that authentic Ibiza feeling, Ministry will be opening up an outside area from 7am until 12pm with a big sound system too... see you under the stars!
