WE LOVE... THE OPENING PARTY!


So here we are. The week we've all been waiting for. The big one. The opening. What more can we say that hasn't already been said in the lead up? Well, plenty actually!

The giant wooden double doors to Space will be thrown open at 4.30pm to welcome the first lucky ravers into the fray - and we can tell you it's well and truly worth getting in early for! On the Sunset Terrace, Jason Bye officially comes out of his San An hibernation to kick off our 2010 season, before we witness the reunion of our favourite DJ-percussionist duo, Balearic legend Alfredo and his smashing good pal Ian C. Rounding it off for the night is Funkagenda, who absolutely belted it last season - we can't wait for his return.

Inside on the Space Terraza, we're very excited to announce this is the ONLY place you'll see a DJ set from Felix and Al of Hot Chip this year. Yep, the only place in the whole wide world, due to their hectic live touring schedule. They've only got Sundays off - so we've booked 'em! But that's not all - joining them is a veritable who's who of loyal We Lovers, James Zabiela, Layo & Bushwacka! and Paul Woolford, plus new monthly resident Mat Playford.

In the deep, dark, cavernous depths of the Discoteca, resident David Phillips returns to his second home behind the decks, warming up the big room for our good mates Audiofly, our new best buddy Martin Buttrich and the techno genius that is none other than Carl Craig. Meanwhile, just upstairs, in the Red Box, The Burlington Project speeds into their summer programming, presenting ViVa Music with David K, Leon, Ryan O'Gorman, Jem Haynes, and Coley LUVJAM.

In El Salon, we welcome the hopping mad Black Rabbit crew, for the first of their monthly residencies. Luca C & Ali Love plus residents Guy Williams and Bones are in control, with the idea to play alternative and unconventional sets as the sun goes down. At the same time, up on the rooftop Premier Etage, Andy Carroll, Mr Doris and Jon Howell will be doing the open-air honours, saluting the sun, the planes and no doubt quite a few shots of Hierbas at the same time!

STOP PRESS! WE LOVE... BASEMENT JAXX! A very late, but very welcome addition to the 2010 We Love... line-up fold is the mighty mighty Basement Jaxx. In news just in, we've just confirmed they'll be performing a Dex n FX set, featuring live keys and vocals, at our closing party on September 26. It's the Jaxx's only Ibiza date this year, and 100 percent exclusive to We Love... so be sure to get your tickets early. WE LOVE... RADIO As we swiftly approach the June 13th opening party, podcast host Tom Brown speaks to We Love... music director Mark Broadbent, who selects six tunes from the music he's been listening to over the winter months while on his winter break with wife Sarah in the jungles of Nicaragua! Our DJ in the mix is monthly resident Mat Playford and we feature highlights from his terrace set back on August 30th 2009. WE LOVE... SPACE 2020VISION SUMMER 2010 MIXED BY RALPH LAWSON As always we love to spread the love. This summer a free compilation album will be handed out to visitors in and around our venue to showcase talent and tunes from the formidably enduring label 2020Vision. Based in Leeds, owned and operated by Ralph Lawson, his team of dedicated and genuine music lovers have shaped the imprint into one of the most respected house labels in the world. Funkagenda DJ Mix Kicking off his six-date residency at the opening party on is Funkagenda. After a standout performance last summer we are delighted to have welcome him back to the sunset terrace, and to get you inspired too, Funkagenda has kindly provided us with this mix showcasing the house sound he has become synonymous with along side a few of his own productions. We Love... it! Catch Funkagenda on the Sunset Terrace on June 13, July 11 & 25, August 15, September 12 & 26.

Ryan O'Gorman House Mix Taking over the Red Box for the entire 15-week run in 2010 is The Burlington Project, with weekly resident Ryan O'Gorman at the helm for the duration. In preparation for the opening party Ryan's cracked open his crates to deliver a house mix... nothing else to say on the matter really. Just listen!

The Black Rabbit gang descends on the White Isle with the idea for all their guests to play alternative and unconventional sets in El Salon throughout the summer. DISCO BLOODBATH By luring the likes of Pilooski, Toby Tobias and Retro/Grade to deepest darkest Dalston, the Disco Bloodbath gang have built, by word-of-mouth, a monthly fixture which has helped to shape the phenomenal global renaissance of disco music within underground club culture. June 29th sees We Love's first foray into the Middle East as we head to Tel Aviv's Hangar 11. Touted as the finest club in Israel we are exceedingly happy to become a part of its illustrious programming. Along side Hangar 11's list of renowned residents, Jonathan Ulysses brings the We Love... party atmosphere of the sunset terrace to the Tel Aviv partygoers.

WE LOVE... MINISTRY OF SOUND

Due to unfortunate closure of matter London last month, we're now happy to announce that for three dates across the course of the season we are taking over the mighty MINISTRY OF SOUND London. In order to truly transport the We Love... ethos to this fantastic club we have called upon some of our friends from around the globe to help us out.

Kicking things off with a bang for our opening party on July 3rd are the awesome DJ Hell, Ralph Lawson and Paul Woolford. Ralph also brings along 2020 Soundsystem for what is sure to be a standout live performance. Hosting the bar, the illustrious Warm bring Tim Sweeney to the fray along with re-edits king Todd Terje, while continuing the disco vibes are Dan Beaumont and Ali Tillet.
