WE LOVE... THE FIFTH ELEMENT
![]()
It was a storming week at We Love... last week and we're certainly not making small talk about the weather here. Taking no prisoners as usual was Ivan Smagghe - who also wants a new rule for clubs in Ibiza to allow people with no teeth to enter for free, or at the very least stop mocking the poor (we wonder what he's getting at?). Jas and James from Simian Mobile Disco absolutely destroyed the disco, followed by a fantastic finish by Deepgroove who closed with their own amazing re-edit of Gorillaz' Dare.
Other highlights included seeing 2manydjs actually crack a smile - it was Steph's 40th after all - while seriously churning through their tunes at high speed, Heidi rocking it (or more appropriately, jacking it) and the Black Rabbits causing mayhem in El Salon with American import Shaun Reeves. And if you weren't there to catch part of the seven-hour b2b marathon on the roof from Ian Blevins and Jamie Fatneck, we suggest you head up there this week for the sequel!

For the fifth instalment of our weekly festival, the dynamic duo of Andy Baxter and Jason Bye kick off all the action on the Sunset Terrace - it's their debut b2b set, so we're sure they'll be pulling all sorts out of the bag. Alfredo and Ian C continue to rule the roost, while Funkagenda brings it home.
Out on the Terraza, witness the return of the mighty Steve Lawler, plus a DFA takeover of sorts, with the Hot Chip DJs Felix and Al plus The Juan Maclean's second coming. We've also brought Jem Haynes out of the Red Box for the occasion, and invited the prodigal Mat Playford to bring back his boisterous bounce!
Disco Bloodbath are back in El Salon - and it's their last time this summer, so don't miss disco-fuelled sets by residents Damon Martin and Dan Beaumont. Speaking of disco, the roof is where it's been at lately - Premier Etage will be at the hands of Jamie Fatneck and Ian Blevins, following up from last week's stellar effort, with the additional skills of Mr Doris and Ben Korbel. Next door in the Red Box, The Burlington Project presents the second instalment of The Burlington Projects Freshblood winners, Cerca Trova (see below for more details of their super-cool soiree!).
Chew the Fat! return to take over the inside of our Discoteca once again this weekend, presenting the only We Love... performance of Steve Aoki this summer. Fat!'s favourite resident Foamo hits the peaktime set and Joe Ransom goes head to head (well, back to back anyway!) with Tayo. Thankfully, the lovely Lottie is also on hand to add a bit of a pizazz to the otherwise deep, dark, cavernous room!

WE LOVE... MINISTRY OF SOUND
We're still in recovery from last week's storming gig at Ministry of Sound in London, where DJ Hell was absolutely amazing and 2020Soundsytem blew us away.
So now it's onto planning the next one... August 14 is the date for your diaries, and we'll be announcing our very special headliners next Monday - they'll be joined by the world's most well-read DJ Ewan Pearson, Will Saul and in exciting news, we'll be letting our long-standing resident Jason Bye leave the island for the night!
We'll finish off the Ministry season on September 25, the day before our Ibiza closing party, so you could join us and make it a 2-day London-to-Ibiza extravaganza.
