WE LOVE... THE 4TH OF JULY

Ask anyone in our office, and they'll merely gloat (or lapse into a dreamy reverie) when telling you about just how freaking amazing Prins Thomas was when he made his We Love... debut last weekend. WOW. In fact, it's even been cited that just being in his presence was like being among cosmic royalty, as some of our star-struck resident DJs will attest to! Meanwhile, right next door, El Salon at the hands of the Tirk crew, became a nu-disco inferno - be sure to check them out when they return in July.

Not to be outdone by anyone, Jesse Rose rocked the room with a high tempo fusion of classics, ska and bouncy bouncy house! Over in the Discoteca, the dance floor was being torn apart by young jozif during the early set, warming up for the swish Swedish duo of Minilogue. Taking it up yet another notch, just when we thought it wasn't possible, was Joris Voorn, who had the club in the palm of his hands for his welcome return as our exclusive resident. Have we mentioned it's good to be back?

To some, the fourth of July is synonymous with a bunch of bad blockbuster movies, an American national holiday, fireworks and something to do with independence. To us here at We Love... however, it's our fourth consecutive Sunday at Space - but it's not just any old Sunday. It's the Sunday we witness the return of Simian Mobile Disco, kicking off their exclusive residency in the Discoteca, where we also look forward to seeing our favourite Frenchie Ivan Smagghe hit the decks for the first time this summer. David Phillips and Deepgroove are also on duty, warming up and bringing the room to a close respectively.

Backing up from last week's debut b2b performance on the Space Terraza are Mambo mates Jason Bye and Alex Wolfenden, who'll be getting the room ready to rock with Thomas Gandey (who closed the Sunset Terrace last week to a thunderous response). Next stop, queen of the Jackathon Heidi graces us with her presence before the mighty 2manydjs whip the room into a frenzy for Paul Woolford to finish the job in true We Love... style.

We Love Space Sundays 2010

El Salon will be hopping mad with the Black Rabbit crew, back in town for their second summer installment, gracing the decks with the usual suspects will be Wolf & Lamb's Shaun Reeves while The Burlington Project present the very first of our Fresh Blood competition winners in the Red Box. Meet London underground legends lo*kee. Coley Luvjam and Jem Haynes are also on hand to contribute to the mayhem and madness of our much-loved little side room.

For those who like to feel the fresh air on their faces, Colin Peters will be kickstarting the Sunset Terrace at 4.30pm, warming up for the Balearic massive, Alfredo and Ian C. MYNC Project are in the house to close the room, however up on the Premier Etage the open air action continues all night long. Jon Howell, Andy Carroll and Jamie Fatneck bring the noise, followed by our very own Ian Blevins who had the roof going off until the sun came up last week - so good you can tune in again this week, same bat time, same bat channel...

t's our third weekly podcast of 2010 and our DJ in the mix is newly appointed exclusive We Love... resident Joris Voorn. He played a storming set in the Discoteca this week and we feature some great highlights. Additional music this week is chosen by Jonathan Ulysses who last week played the closing set on the Sunset Terrace, where we caught up with him to get him to select three of his top tunes for this weeks show. The show is hosted by Tom Brown live and direct from our backstage area at Space nightclub in Ibiza, while Ruth Osborn gets on the roving mic, reporting from the Red Box and the Discoteca.

WE LOVE... FRESHBLOOD WINNERS

The first winners of our Fresh Blood competition, in association with G-Shock Burlington Project, designed to showcase the stars of the underground scene, this month are lo*kee - an intimate warehouse party in the heart of East London with a focus on cutting edge music and friendly, no-attitude vibes. The super-clandestine gathering is currently one of London's most talked about parties - download two of the lo*kee DJ mixes below to hear what all the fuss is about. Or join them in the Red Box this Sunday!

Sebastian Voight

German born Sebastian Voigt is not just a product of club culture, but a deep thinker raised on a plethora of contrasting musical genres ranging from classical to hip hop. Asked to describe his own style he says, 'Entertaining, deep, evolving, with a focus on groove and mood, not too obvious. It's all about creating a vibe.

Nisekay

Following his formative years as a party warrior, Nisekay was born out of a love for a good party. Influenced by his early experiences with Goa's psychedelic trance parties and the techno/house of Ibiza, he was struck by a love for underground electronic music. As the party grows around him, Nisekay is hard at work in the studio experimenting with new sounds.

Simian Mobile Disco
WE LOVE... SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO

Although the origins of Simian Mobile Disco lie in the relatively prosaic rock 'n' roll territory of a bust up of indie band Simian in a fish restaurant in Texas, the depth and breadth of their passion for electronic music is apparent on listening to their diverse but focused catalogue. They bring an infectious brand of hypnotic minimalism meets maximal electronica and their sets are guaranteed showstoppers from start to finish.

WE LOVE... ALTERNATIVE ANGLES

Data TransmissionLeading dance music website Data Transmission have teamed up with their buddies at Pacemaker to present a room with a twist in El Salon on July 18.

Get set to see DJs playing sets that are a little different to the norm, using Pacemakers - the pocket-sized DJ setup that's taken the world by storm - to play an eclectic mix of music. In the headline slot James Zabiela plays a special dubstep and dub techno set, while Wiggle tech house legend pioneer and Ibiza resident Nathan Coles whips out the B-sides, unearthing hidden gems from years gone by.

Playing Ibiza and Balearic classics to remind us of the island's gone-but-not-forgotten musical heritage are Data Transmission's Ben Gomori, Mark Batch and Grahame Farmer, while the winner of the Let's Mix DJ competition (which had over 300 entrants) is ready to impress with their winning skills.
