Well, we're not afraid to say it... THANK GOD the football is over! It may have been pandemonium in the streets in Playa D'en Bossa (plus some slight hysteria in the Discoteca when the head of Space security started doing laps with a flag) as Spain took the cup, but here at We Love... HQ, we're just as happy to get back to the business of throwing parties.
Forget the Dutch - we reckon poor Lottie was the biggest victim of the sport, suffering a slow start for her only We Love... Space gig this year while waiting for the sports buffs to slowly trickle off the streets and into the club. Sorry Lottie! An hour later, it was a completely different story as Chew The Fat!'s wonderkid Foamo played to the best reception we've seen in the room to date, followed by a blinding (and bleeping) set by Steve Aoki, who despite his promises wasn't wearing his Spanish footy jersey... again we say thank god - the guy's an LA fashion icon, so we'd hope he never embraces the hooligan look!
In other rooms, we witnessed the return of Lawler - it's good to have him back - and Jem Haynes storming through to the last remaining moments on a packed Terraza dance floor. Earlier in the night, Funkagenda was celebrating his birthday with a classic selection of his own anthemic re-edits... later on claiming it was the best birthday he's ever had. Three cheers to that! There's something majorly afoot in our Discoteca this weekend, as we prep for the arrival of Carl Craig and friends! We're calling in resources from all over Europe in order to make it happen, including bringing in a baby grand piano via ferry from Mallorca, a Moog synthesiser being personally delivered by Mat Playford from Islington, microphones from Barcelona and even the special guest 'friend of Carl', Francesco Tristano, hailing from Luxembourg via way of Barcelona. Then of course, Carl himself will be jetting in directly from Detroit, to head up the all-star Discoteca line-up, which also includes our two exclusive residents Joris Voorn and James Zabiela plus We Love... stalwart David Phillips. MASSIVE! We Love... history in the making.
And the international deliveries just keep on coming, with Groove Armada fresh off the plane from their Lovebox festival and straight into our Terraza for round two of their summer residency. From the other side of the globe, San Francisco to be precise, comes the original Dirty Bird, Claude VonStroke and back over yonder, Dixon hitches a ride all the way from Germany. Then there's three special seats reserved on the Leeds-to-Ibiza budget air express for our good mates Paul Woolford plus PBR Streetgang's Bonar and Tom. No seriously, it's (ahem!) first class all the way...
In El Salon, we've got a special one-off soiree, hosted by the good folk at Data Transmission and Pacemaker. It's been dubbed Alternative Angles featuring Wiggle legend Nathan Coles, Ben Gomori, Mark Batch and Grahame Farmer alongside competition winner BenSol and each DJ will be playing an alternative set on a pacemaker... well worth a watch! Up in the Red Box, The Burlington Project's Freshblood showcase continues, this week with Liverpool's mUmU taking over the room.
We've kept it pretty local out on the Sunset Terrace however, with Jason Bye most likely catching the bus in from San An, Alfredo & Ian C cruising the country back roads and Jonathan Ulysses arriving in his own inimitable style. The local flavour continues upstairs on the Premier Etage, with local lads Mr Doris, Ben Korbel and Ian Blevins at the controls - if you happen to spot them hitchhiking back into Ibiza town at sunrise... we suggest you keep driving!!![]()

Our DJ in the mix this week is Terrace resident Funkagenda, who was also celebrating his birthday as he delivered a classic terrace set that will surely be one of the best of the season. Amazing atmosphere from the crowd and some fantastic technical skills from the box. Our music selector this week is We Love... resident Ian Blevins who selects three tracks from his current DJ set.
