WE LOVE... LUCKY NUMBER SEVEN

Sing us a song, you're the piano man... well, err, actually, we'd rather you didn't - just keep on doing what you were doing! In case you weren't on hand to witness the spectacle we're talking about, the piano man in question is Francesco Tristano, who was twinkling the ivories alongside the legendary Carl Craig on the ones and twos (and iPads and drum machines and all kinds of other knob-twiddling devices). Goes without saying the highlights of their set were Strings of Life and The Bells, and our stark realisation that all the noises in The Bells come directly from a piano!

Following up such a performance is an extremely difficult job to say the least, so the baton was passed over to trusty We Lover... James Zabiela, who, despite feeling under the weather himself, absolutely rocked the Discoteca to the core...

Next door in the Terraza, the Groove Armada boys showed a massive return to form - showing their dark sides with some jacking acid house. We could go so far as to say it was the set of the summer ... so far!

Of course, they say all good things must come to an end (no matter how much we try to drag them out!), which was the sad case for our unofficial after party, brought to an unceremonious close by the local police in the early hours of Monday morning. Never deterred by the word 'no', we merely moved the party into a seedy Playa D'en Bossa bowling alley, where Claude VonStroke took on the We Love... team in an after-hours tournament that is to be continued...

It's all about the Detroit massive in our Discoteca this weekend - we've got Jeff Mills and Derrick May hitting the decks to keep the techno enthusiasts appeased. We also let We Love... rezzie Jem Haynes continue making his week-by-week way around the club, this time hitting the big room to warm up for Will Saul, who's making his only We Love... appearance this summer.

Out on the Terraza, We Love... bowling champion Ian Blevins kicks off the action, followed by 2020 main man Ralph Lawson. Then we'd like to welcome Miss Kittin back for another season, as she brings her Republique concept to Space, sharing the booth with our very own Steve Lawler for a five-hour b2b extravaganza - set your watches for this one folks, you're in for a long and interesting journey into sound!

We Love Space Sundays 2010

Of course, it's not all thumping basslines and fierce techno, there's also a place in the club for those who want to indulge their inner disco diva, or alternatively give the eardrums a break! We're keeping it all very nu-disco and Balearic this weekend in El Salon, with Tirk Records presenting Architeq live, Soft Rocks, Matty J & Ben Terry, plus Folk Ibiza are taking over the Premier Etage with Manchester's Balearic Mike, Lexx, Naïve Melody and Be bringing the musical goods.

On the Sunset Terrace, Jason Bye, Alfredo & Ian C and Funkagenda know exactly what they're doing - and if you've been in the club for their previous performances, you'll know it's a must-see event! Finally, up in the Red Box, The Burlington Project presents Hypercolour, and we're interested to see just what Jamie (aka Cedric Maison) is going to pull out of the bag, given that he's been there every week, week in, week out, sussing out the room and formulating his very own plan of attack! He's joined by Alex Jones, Ryan O'Gorman, Andy Carroll and Scott Martin.

After that... well, anyone for bowling?

WE LOVE... MONTENEGRO

We Love... MontenegroWith summer in full swing here in Ibiza, some of us here at We Love... HQ feel the need to take a mid week break! Tuesday 27 July sees We Love... favourites Serge Santiago and Jem Haynes head over to Budvar's idyllic Top Hill club. A brand new venture set on the hills overlooking the city, this outdoor venue echoes of the Space of old and we're very happy to now be part of the programming there. With the Balkans fast becoming a hot bed for dance music pilgrims, this party is the first of two we are doing over the summer, and we can't wait to see if it's as good as we are expecting. Care to join us?

WE LOVE... DJ MIXES
As part of our constant mission to keep your iPod updated with the freshest We Love... sounds, check out the latest mixes we've added to our collection, from this week's special Red Box and El Salon guests respectively.

Alex Jones
Inspired by a mixture of the golden age of tech-house and the disparate, oddball sounds of Koze, Wruhme and Bodycode, Alex Jones is by no means a straightforward DJ. His ability to switch from hypnotic Motor City grooves to awkward, angular curveballs and back seamlessly is captivating, refreshing -think off-kilter house and techno characterised by an almost bullish drive to be different. Want to hear more? Head to the Red Box on Sunday to find out!

Soft Rocks Download
Three quarters Brighton, one quarter Brooklyn, Soft Rocks have made the leap from record collectors, to editors du jour, to fully fledged producers of late - whilst fabled for their weird and wonderful online mixes, in the club they
go for the dance floor jugular; albeit in an unexpected, eclectic fashion.
This has taken them around Europe and beyond, to clubs like Fabric, Horse
Meat Disco, Bad Passion and Tape, and seen them play from Moscow to New York. Catch them in El Salon this Sunday...
