WE LOVE... JULY!
We've already steamed on in to July, which happens to be an extremely rare FIVE-WEEKEND MONTH! You've missed one but there are four more Sundays at We Love... Space left. Pack your bags and get on board.
Groove Armada once again smashed the Terraza last Sunday with their Red Light Sessions (a total sound and vision extravaganza), while Heidi closed the room in her own inimitable style, jacking beats from Chi Town and filthy low slung baselines from God knows where! Appleblim, Al Tourettes, DJ Hell and Jeff Mills represented the real sound of techno, scaring the uninitiated into the Red Box for some less aggressive funk-filled numbers courtesy of The Revenge and our own Jem Haynes and Ryan O Gorman.

July 10:
There's a definite French flavour in the air, as Miss Kittin, Ivan Smagghe and Dan Ghenacia grace us with their elegance on the Terraza. We've also got the We Love Sunset Terrace debut of Ibiza alternative party starters Rock Nights, with remix, cut-up and edit specialists Cassette Jam bringing the noise with resident Colin Peters taking care of business through till midnight. Chew the Fat! host the Discoteca with Jem Haynes, Foamo, James Zabiela and for the first time in many years 2manydjs return to the Discoteca to finish the proceedings.

July 17:
We take a Scandinavian cosmic journey with the return of Prins Thomas and Lindstrom playing live. Frankfurter Alex Niggemann and Octave One make their We Love Discoteca debut, joined by fellow Detroit legends Derrick May and Claude VonStroke. Meanwhile it's a welcome return for Funkagenda who smashed it last time he played the Sunset Terrace. Hard working residents Paul Woolford and Mat Playford (complete with his heavyweight live synth set up) complement proceedings on the Terraza.

July 24:
Your hosts for the evening are Resident Advisor who bring a special 5-hour Innervisions live showcase featuring Dixon, Henrik Schwarz and Âme that looks set to be the talk of the island for many years to come, along with Tensnake live, while exclusive resident Joris Voorn is joined by Derrick May, Agoria and resident Jem Haynes in the Discoteca. Rock Nights are back on the Sunset Terrace and A Guy Called Gerald enters the Red Box.

July 31:
Carl Craig and James Zabiela step out of the Discoteca darkness to play a special house set on the Terraza, alongside stalwarts of the room Ralph Lawson, Smokin' Jo and PBR Streetgang. Over in Carl's territory, Hot Chip DJs Felix & Al, Simian Mobile Disco and Ewan Pearson keep things under control, with what looks like turning into a modern day battle of the bands! Moda's Jaymo & Andy George are back on the Sunset Terrace with special guest The Magician, while Psychonaut Paul Mogg is at the controls of El Salon with Bones and David Philips. Upstairs in the Red Box, is the We Love... Vitalik album release showcase with Ryan O'Gorman and exclusive sets from Ethyl and Paul Loraine, both Vitalik stable regulars.

Week in, week out, we bring you all the behind the scenes action - including candid interviews with our guest DJs from We Love, plus plenty of in-the-club and on-the-dance floor action too. Want to get up to speed on the season so far? We delved deep into the history of Carl Craig's seminal label Planet E as it celebrated its 20th anniversary; we got up close and personal with the 2020 Soundsystem crew as they took over the Terraza and we covered the Balearic debuts of phenomenal live acts Caribou and Blondes, we chatted about live elements in clubs with Simian Mobile Disco and did our best to scruff up the overly-styled hair of BBC wonderkids Jaymo & Andy George.

Greg Wilson – Live Mix From The Cut
 Artist and photographer Gareth McConnell first came to Ibiza, and Space, in 1993. He started a photography project 'Nothing Is Ever The Same As They Said It Was' in 2002 and has returned almost every year since. The project mainly focuses around British workers and displays a fascinating insight into a lifestyle of transience and innocence. Read more. |
