Sunday 8 September
This week, the theme is very much Detroit tinged with old pal of We Love... Claude VonStroke first up to represent the Motor City. Claude graces the Discoteca's voluptous depths for a one off special show to remind us why we adore the Dirtybird so much. And on THAT soundsystem. Oof! Next up, France’s answer to techno headlines in the form of Technasia where he is joined by his Gallic counterpart Agoria. Jem Haynes gets the decks ready for the evening’s proceedings. As usual. Like every week. More or less.
This week the terrace is co curated by both We Love... Recordings and Vitalik Records as label boss of both imprints Ryan O Gorman invites compilers of the marvellous We Love... Detroit compilation Derrick May and Jimmy Edgar and Vitaliks own rising star Anonym (who will be playing an exclusive live set) to support him in this week's proceedings. Ryan has been a regular fixture of this summers programming and this week has been on our minds for some time. A perfect blend of guests to compliment his own unique style.
If this were not hot enough the cherry on the cake this week comes in the shape of DeeJay Gigolo's DJ Hell. A We Love... office favourite usually found in the darker recesses of the mainroom plays the Space Terrace for the first time and last time this summer. A show not to miss given his recent history (last summers show was a massive highlight) of destroying the terrace with his unique blend of disco infused techno and house.
The Sunset Terrace exudes female charm with a set from Lottie and a live PA from Little Boots. Jason Bye makes sure the crowd is willing beforehand. Little Boots then nips across to El Salon for a disco extravaganza with Moon Boots, enigmatic music duo Dief & Baker and Kitt Proudfoot.
Father and son Heritage Project, Alfredo and Jaime take over the Premier Etage ably assisted by Ian Blevins and Andy Carroll who take things to a whole new Balearic level.
