With a bespoke Funktion One system which is taken back to "the farm" in rural England every winter to be rebuilt, refined and polished - there is no better temple to clarity of sound and devotion to quality in Ibiza, Europe or arguably the world than the Discoteca. The room can lend itself to both big room, emotive electronica and stripped back techno like no other. Over the years the room has lent itself to everything from the rigorous techno of Jeff Mills to the esoteric pianoforte of Francesco Tristano. This year James Zabiela, who knows how to carve up the Funktion One system like no other, celebrates 10 years as the room's undisputed maestro. Other highlights of the year include a special vinyl only, 20 Years of Planet E showcase with Carl Craig, Paul Woolford and Derrick May. Caribou will be making an Ibizan debut with his full live band and Aphex Twin will be returning at the closing party after an authentically epic performance in 2010.
