People visiting the white isle in summer may tend to leave a few kilos lighter, whether due to a non-existent appetite, excess calorie burning on the dance floor or just the fact that you’ve had to ditch half your belongings because of the evil excess luggage charges on budget airlines. Not so in the winter however – we dare anyone to come and visit without packing on a few pounds so good is the island’s culinary flair.

In comparison to summer, Ibiza in November may come across as a bit of a ghost town to those not in-the-know. Gone are the hordes of scantily clad peeps waiting on the streets, the traffic banked up coming in and out of town and long queues in the shops, the banks or at the taxi ranks. However it's hardly a case of a town in hibernation - it's in the back streets and behind closed doors where the action all takes place. You just have to know where to look...

Here on the remarkably sunny white isle, we've been at a bit of a loose end these past few Sundays. No DJs to pick up from the airport, no guest list catastrophes and no scrounging around for drinks tickets to keep that seemingly endless supply of shots of Hierbas coming thick and fast over the bar. We Loved... Summer 2009. It was an epic 16-week journey, with all roads leading to last weekend's closing fiesta, which despite some ominous looking rain, thunder and lightning, was nothing short of a roadblock! Our biggest props go out to the 17 000+ ravers who braved the weather (let's be honest, there's something so liberating about dancing in a storm - why would you stay home?) and also, of course to the mega line-up of DJs who kept the tunes flowing until the last We Love... staffers were practically dragged out of the venue in broad daylight on Monday morning. read more...

They say all good things must come to an end, and who are we to argue? 16 weeks down the 2009 line, after a long, hot and steamy summer, here at We Love... HQ, we're ready for a holiday, ready to sit back and relax, ready to take a chill pill and ready to trek all over the world in search of new experiences, endless summers, fresh music and all-important inspiration. But not until we've closed the curtains on We Love... by throwing the shindig to end all shindigs this weekend!
