From an early age, Joe Ransom knew his calling in life was to make people dance.
Joe’s teenage years were spent orchestrating underground parties in his ‘motherland’ of Somerset, giving him the perfect chance to work his unique DJ style; relentlessly putting needle to the wax, experimenting with quick mixes and fast cutting, he honed his sound and began to make name for himself as being something quite unique.
His West Country buzz caught the eagle eye of Fabric promoters, who made Joe resident at the London club during it’s opening year.
Eight years on he still holds residency at Fabric, arguably the most ground - breaking and influential dance club in the UK. Alongside this long-standing fixture, Joe has a Fabric Live compilation CD to his name, a myriad of international tour dates under his belt and is in the fifth year of hosting his weekly show on Kiss FM as well as presenting duties for Kiss TV.
‘Free parties and proper raves ruled the roost where I grew up. Being involved with that scene injected me with an unexplainable energy and attitude to music and DJing, which I still plough into my sets and production today.’
Touring the globe supporting acts such as Basement Jaxx, UNKLE, Diplo and DJ Zinc has given Joe the grounding to carve himself as a strong player in the scene. Subsequently he has DJed across the globe with spots at some of the most exciting events in dance music; including Global Gathering, Glastonbury and Exit Festivals.
2010 sees Joe currently concentrating on tech house production project ‘Sticks & Stones’ due for release later in the year.
