Attention to detail, creative choice of venue but most importantly a warm musically savvy crowd and a close knit family of talented resident djs has seen the Half Baked collective leading the vanguard of East London party starters.

Releasing on two very London-centric labels Robin Ordell and Hamid will be representing in the Redbox on the 10th

-ROBIN ORDELL (LEFTROOM / REMAKE / HALF BAKED)
- HAMID ( MUMUR / SAFARI / METROLINE/ SNUBB)

Hamid

DJ and producer Hamid was instantly immersed in music, growing up in the quiet south east of France. Brought up as by far the youngest of 5, his early years were full of musical inspiration from all genres and era's. In 2006 he moved to London. The city, its playground of rhythm and creative diversity were literally music to his ears; pulling him deeper in love with sound more than ever before Hamid began securing his place on the city’s house and techno scene.

Hamid’s current residency at London’s hottest Sunday party Half Baked, continues to see Hamid play amongst some of Europe’s most respected artists.

With so many elements that have been essential in his growth as a DJ, and more recently, a producer, it's unsurprising that we see such a sense of maturity in his work at such a young age. Hamid 's sound varies eclectically, from his DJ sets to solo productions, collaborations and live work. Latin and tribal ambiences are entwined with down tempo jazz and seductive vocals. Percussion and brass sit alongside deep and heavy rhythmic bass, always focusing on a strong and dominant platform of techno and deep house. It's erotic and dark, sensual and classical, encompassing so many genres and styles in one, a minefield of experimentation that works and forces our minds and bodies into his world.

Robin Ordell

London based artist Robin Ordell’s love of soulful grooves, dub and funk music stem back into a childhood influenced by the masters of funk and soul, finding themselves intertwined into what is now a deep love affair with house music. Growing up in Nice, France, Robin found himself in London in 2007 drawn deeper into the underground house techno scene. It was here that he began exercising his love for solid, bouncy house and he took to the decks and began playing.
2009 took a sharp turn for Ordell, playing at the infamous Fabric, TBar and Kubicle sparked a noticeable and deserved progression and confidence from this artist. It was around this time Half Baked was formed, now East London’s legendary underground Sunday party where Robin Ordell alongside Greg Brockmann and Hamid are residents. Half Baked has reached phenomenal success and Ordell has played alongside Seuil, Craig Richards, Lee Curtiss, Mayaan Nidam and Le Loup amongst others.
On the production front things are rapidly happening for this young artist with upcoming releases on Remake Musique, Safari Numerique and Leftroom. Deep bassy breaks and warm loops flow through his dj’ing and productions, a unit of electronic rhythm with touches of minimal experimentation spread elegantly within his sound realm whilst remaining resolute in a signature of funk encased in a strong house message. Robin is currently working on solo projects and collaborations with some of electronic music’s most talked about upcoming producers and continues to play regularly around London and Europe.
