DJ/ Producer Callum is responsible under his various aliases for a number of well-respected labels including Messalina, Cellophane, Par-Tay, Space Truckin’, Wildlife and more. Callum’s DJ sets reflect his years of vinyl addiction bringing an encyclopedic knowledge, finely-honed skills and an irrepressible enthusiasm for all types of music to the turntables, effortlessly blending everything from funky old skool disco, boogie and soul with quality deep house and techno and everything around and in-between to create an irresistibly sexy party groove that it’s impossible not move to.
After first cutting his DJ teeth over 20 years ago at Sheffield’s infamous cellar parties and illegal blues clubs, Callum has since enjoyed a wide-ranging music career with numerous club residencies, pirate radio shows, gigs at many of the UK’s hottest underground venues, tours of the US & Europe and private parties for everyone from Damian Hurst to Courtney Love. As a member of the infamous DIY and Smokesceen crews, Callum played extended sets at their legendary outdoor free parties and club nights and as Digital Boogie with partner DJ Raw produced a string of quality deep house EPs for their label and others including the underground smash ‘Afterglow’. He has worked for many years in record shops and vinyl distribution, been music adviser on film and TV projects, A&Red numerous compilations of obscure 70s and 80s rarities for different labels, and along with old friends Rodney ‘Roots Manuva’ Smith and DJ Winston Hazel (Forgemasters), set up the ‘Lord Gosh Sound System’, playing a series of much heralded warehouse parties in London, New York, Glasgow and Glastonbury.
Spending more time in the studio since moving to Ibiza, Callum has recently released a slew of top quality re-edits spanning a mind-boggling array of genres through afro-disco, rock, new wave, punkfunk, Balearic and beyond under his variety of aliases including Lucci Capri, Coko Karina, Kid Flamingo and Strangers from Planet Venus (SFPV). He is also producing new deep house with releases due to drop very soon as well as heavy duty electro funk as Viscount De Bango and hiphop beats for rap artists and TV shows. During his sets at Space, Callum will be showcasing lots of new material including unreleased edits and tracks and plenty of We Love exclusives!
