Music is Ben’s life. He’s been a keen follower of dance music since he first heard his older brother’s hardcore and jungle tapes aged 10, and works in the clubbing/dance music industry as a PR and Journalist. His obsession with music doesn’t stop at dance music though – he enjoys and appreciates virtually every style of music – which explains his diverse take on DJing. Born to Hungarian parents in Cambridge, he now resides in London and has been making solid progress in the world of DJing.
Ben plays across the house music spectrum. Deep, funk-fuelled, tough, electro-infused, progressive, groovy minimal, techy...there’s no prejudice as far as he’s concerned. He’s also been known to play the occasional deep downtempo set. Versatility is his key, and his passion for playing different styles of music has helped him to understand the intricacies of dance music at greater depth. His mixing style is involved and energetic – combining effects from his Kaoss Pad II with high-impact cutting and EQing on the mixer to make sure that there’s never a dull moment. But that’s not to say he doesn’t know when to let a track breathe...
Over the years, Ben has been a resident at The Cross, The Key, Turnmills, Egg, Pacha and 54 in London. He has won 4 separate DJ competitions and has played twice at Europe’s largest festival – Sziget in Hungary. He has played on Budapest’s Tilos Radio, the country’s most respected independent station, and recently played for BBC’s 6Music station. He made his Ibiza debut in 2006, playing at The Orange Corner and also played twice at both Global Gathering and Creamfields – the two biggest dance music festivals in the UK.
He has also embarked on a production career, with a forthcoming EP alongside Zoo Project resident Saytek on Berwick Street Records, remixes for Big In Ibiza and Grin Recordings, and EP on Seamless Black (home to Scope & Muzzaik) with Bentley. His Red Lake ‘Changes Alright’ bootleg was played 3 weeks running by Judge Jules on his Radio1 show (who describes him as having “a very bright future”) and was made his Tried & Tested Tune of The Week, with his Jesse Von Peaches bootleg played by Jesse Rose on his Essential Mix. His productions and bootlegs have been supported by DJs as diverse as Anthony Pappa, Larry Tee, Erick E, Tim Sheridan, Anil Chawla and Mason. Aside from DJing, he is also the editor of www.datatransmission.co.uk – the UK’s most diverse and fastest growing online dance music magazine.

It’s no secret that we love all types of great music here at We Love… HQ, which is why July’s Freshblood winner, Ben Gomori really impressed us with his Don’t Forget To Go Home mix. A slightly down tempo offering, with a wicked track selection that would work equally as well on the Premier Etage at Space as the sun goes down and planes fly overhead as it would at home during those early morning head nodding moments...
