This mix by Mat Playford was actually recorded live for Ibiza Sonica on the Space Terraza last month when he played for us – since then, he’s taken the mix and given it just a little studio finesse in all the right places.
Mark Murphy - Freshblood 2008
The final monthly Fresh Blood winner is Dublin's Mark Murphy. His mix is a refreshing blend of styles that we love at We Love...! Grooving minimal from labels such as Cadenza and Area Remote is juxtaposed with unashamed feelgood jacking tracks from the likes of JT Donaldson and We Love's favourite DJ Sneak, meaning there's something for every fan of quality house music. Well done Mark!

The mix that started it all! What I feel is a timeless mix that seemed to bring a bit of attention my way over 5 years ago (it gave me my first Pacha & We Love... dj slots amongst others) & mixed live in my bedroom! Using strictly vinyl, no computers, editing techniques or tech wizardry & was actually recorded using a mini disc (remember them!). I think this mix shows my backroom/leftfield/hip hop styles to the fullest... there is also a homage to the late great Tony D at the start (although i didn't know it at the time of recording).
