After 8 years of putting together the ultimate dance music day out in the countryside We Love... decided to jointly pull the plug on the Homelands festival. This action was partly due to the rising amount of luke warm competition leeching away at the last embers of the dying UK "dance" market – and it’s also likely to piss down! But more than this after a trip taken to Ireland to check out the fantastic Electric Picnic, a shining/unique example of how things should be done, a true meeting of minds, a gathering of the clans, a music lovers paradise, this IS the way forward, a back to basics music festival where the genres melt away enabling people to find out for themselves what kind of music they like...
For the people who grew up with us raving in Winchester and who’s musical tastes will have changed, we promise to bring back the spine tingling flush of joy you get when you see 15.000 people under one tented roof totally going off. We will continue to stay one step ahead of the game, finding emerging talent, placing them in the right context next to established acts and watching as these new stars shine, this is what we do, We Love Music loves Electric Picnic, oh yes we do!. |
