Through the influence of Kraftwerk, Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Jeff Mills, Chicago House and Italo, Stacey Pullen grew up in the rich musical universe of Detroit in the mid 1980's. He also had the privilege to attend sessions at the legendary Music Institute. Pullen began playing in small clubs and underground parties and did not take long to start producing under the alias, Bongo. His use of tribal percussion immediately caught the attention of others who began to imitate and acquire the innovative and influential Pullen sound.
After working on original projects and remixes for labels such as KMS Records , Eclipse Records , BMG / Ariola , Buzz , PIAS Belgim, R & S , Warner , Virgin and Transmat Records, Stacey has become one of the most requested remixers and DJs on the circuit today. To the extent where he has played on all continents and his work is recognised by everybody. Pullen launched his own label Blackflag Recordings, which sought to distance himself from the hallmarks of the Detroit sound through eclecticism and approach to music as art. He aims to obtain final results which remove any trace of complacency or submission to the preconceived!
