The abstract minded Luv*Jam parties from Wrexham, North Wales, have developed into a local cult with the mighty ONK and it's ONKTIONARY. It's as much an art project as music, but expect supreme sound, extreme darkness and lots of places to hide! Many years of unusual parties in unusual surroundings such as concrete bunkers, Berlin’s river spree and enchanted mountain forests now leads to the creation of their own label Crow Castle Cuts. Named after a near by Medieval Fort in Llangollen. The vinyl only label launches on March1st with CCC0749 with tracks from San Soda, Maxim Lany and the Luv*Jam crew. Expect 4 x 12” grey vinyl releases over the year.
Luv*Jam have been enjoying a very busy period indeed, with killer tracks signed to Belgium’s bespoke real house music label WE PLAY HOUSE RECORDINGS (Resident Advisor - label of the month - Sep 2010) offering the PITCH BLACK EP and a remix of Chicago acid house don TYREE COOPER on hand stamped green vinyl. Followed rapidly by another vinyl release on WPHR sister label LANY RECORDINGS who have also signed another 12” “SHARK” for 2011!
Luv*Jam have created a series of new tracks written and produced in Ibiza whilst resident for the wonderful WE LOVE SPACE in 2010. Two of the tracks “Mature Oak” and “Crickets & Bats” were instantly snapped up by the massive PHONICA label, home of the UK’s finest record store and out now on their mysterious WHITE LABELS. Slow motion technoid tracks “Sandstorm” and “Snowstorm” have been signed to Berlin’s super secretive MILLIONS-OF-MOMENTS Finite offshoot on clear vinyl late Spring, 2011! On top of that we can also announce had a beautiful 4 track EP signed to killer new vinyl label VIBRATIONS out oct/nov.
We Play House Recordings instantly signed the Luv*Jam track “Dewi On Deck” named after our very own Luv*Jam feline friend “Dewi” who just loves sleeping on our turntables! RED D & SAN SODA dropped it in Berlin, and liked it so much, it’s landed itself on to the rather
special WE PLAY HOUSE WHITE VINYL release for early Summer, 2011! There are also a string of great digital releases out now on ELECTRIC SHEEP and HORSEPLAY RECORDINGS plus remixes for SOUNDS OF SUMO and DIRTY PLANET.
As a DJ, Coley - Luv*Jam has played many of the leading festivals, parties and radio stations including Bestival, Chibuku, Creamfields, Global Gathering, Mulletover, Samurai, Sankey Soap, Secret Sonar, Tribal Gathering, Wakestock and We Love. Luv*Jam spent the summer of 2010 as WE LOVE SPACE resident in Ibiza after many years of playing for them. Recent bookings enlist The Zoo Project,
Sunset Ashram, several radio shows for Ibiza Sonica, La Macarena in Barcelona and the UK’s award winning festival BESTIVAL.
Other recent highlights include Kink in Cape Town, Luv*Jam 8th Birthday, Audio Farm, and sets for We Play House and Culture Club Ghent.
Future highlights include sets for We Love Space, Camp Bestival, Bestival, EYB and other We Play House label parties.
